In the aftermath of the 2016 election, it is clearer than ever that the Democratic Party cannot blindly rely on demographic trends or candidate personality alone to achieve electoral success. This outreach must occur on a permanent basis, not just on the eve of an election. And in an age where social media allows people to curate their own information sources in ways that ratify their existing viewpoints, it will require the pioneering of new ways to communicate with people.
